On October 30, 2026, I was invited by Prof. Shingo Murata to give a seminar talk on “PredVLA: Predictive Sensorimotor Modeling for Sub-Million-Parameter Robot Manipulation” at his lab in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Keio University.
In the talk, I introduced PredVLA's core idea of building a small robot controller around predicting sensorimotor dynamics and inferring its latent state from prediction error, rather than compressing it as an observation-to-action mapping, along with its results on the LIBERO benchmark.
The discussion gave me interesting perspectives on how PredVLA could be extended, along with feedback from researchers who specialize in VLA models, which I learned a great deal from.
I am grateful to Prof. Murata for the invitation and to the members of the lab.
